You will probably be aware that all has not been rosy in the Roversfans garden recently and that certain members have decided to leave or simply stopped posting for a number of reasons.
It’s always strange, in my experience, that something which makes no money and is of no real importance to individuals can foment so much emotion and anger. Having said that and as the sole remaining original member of admin I can only apologise for a sequence of events which inevitably spilled out of the admin section and onto the message board.
I have to say that the views expressed were those of certain individuals and in no way reflected the general viewpoint of others or the board itself.
There is always a difficult path to take between strict censorship and no censorship. Either end of the spectrum proving either unnecessary, unwanted or just plain impossible.
I am pleased to announce that Wilpshire Blue has agreed to join in the ownership and assist with the general running of the site.
Phil ‘WB’ is a sound bloke, very enthusiastic about the Rovers and the Roverfans community and in owning an IT-based company possesses many of the sound technical skills required. Obviously, he is also a keen Rovers supporter of long standing and is willing to devote a lot of his spare time to the site (*see below).
We are both confident that we have eradicated most, if not all, of the issues that were previously causing so much disharmony and are hopeful that those whose enjoyment has been soured will respect our efforts and we can all get back to the ‘friendly board’ that this was intended to be at the outset.
If any member has any hangover issues which we may not be aware of then please let us know by PM.
Typically, ‘it never rains but it pours’ and in the midst of all the strife the site hosting and domain name required renewing with the hosting company.
We had to decide whether to stump up the renewal fee and carry on, to walk away and re-invent the site elsewhere or to simply let it close, leaving members the option of returning to the BRFCS branch of Momentum or the LT comments bear pit.
To do the latter we feel would have been to let down the members who have joined, contributed and enjoyed the site over the past two years. It perhaps needs to be remembered at this point that the club itself has no message board facility having elected to close it down without warning a couple of years or so ago.
In a nutshell we have taken the decision to chip in, temporarily renew the licence and move forward with the site.
We are hopeful that posting levels will rise to or above the level they were before the recent troubles and if that happens we will renew the site for the longer term.
If this turns out not to be the case, then it will be obvious to all that the site is no longer supported or needed and it will be allowed to expire. Effectively a case of que sera sera.
In the meantime we continue to welcome posters old and new to contribute to our community and make this the enjoyable and friendly site that it was before.
Finally, if any member has a request/suggestion/contribution which they feel will improve and develop the site then please feel free to pm myself or Wilpshire Blue at any time.
Thank you for your past contributions and we look forward to many more.

*N.B. The deal breaker, however, was when I discovered that Wilpshire Blue has a keen interest in brewing his own beer! Whether I can persuade him to produce a ‘Roversfans Best’ sometime in the future for an end of season shindig remains to be seen.
